Coming Home: A Creative Retreat
Coming Home is a three-day communal experience in Bull City, Durham, NC, home to Duke University, a convergence of cultures, and the ministry of trees.
Let me be the first to welcome you to join us in October 2025 as help each other come home to our desires, needs, and dreams.
Come home to yourself
October 3-6, 2025
-
Dinners & Dialogues
Sit at the table with new friends and old to discuss the things that weigh you down, the dreams that lift you up, and the struggles that make you weary. In a psychologically safe environment of wise sages, find your soul and body tended to and nurtured in the company of other women in similar seasons of life.
-
Learning & Engaging
We are all learners with expertise in our fields encouraging you to come home to yourself, to God, and to others. Through lectures, panel discussions, small groups, and creativity, bear witness to the lives of others in a place where authenticity and kindness are practiced and welcomed.
You are worthy of time, energy, and investment. We are ready to welcome you home.
Sessions Only
Maybe you’re local or have family in the area, or you like to book your own lodging. This gets you the sessions and meals and you handle personal accommodations.
The Full Monty
You trust us and know we’ll book you at our walkable, downtown, fave hotel with the best coffee in town. We handle your lodging and you join the sessions.

FAQs
-
Coming Home is located in Durham, N.C., with sessions in Ashley’s home, and hotel accommodations at the mid-century modern Durham Hotel downtown (home to the best coffee and views in a walkable, historic neighborhood in Durham). For those traveling from another state, RDU is the airport you’ll fly into.
-
There are two options for you to choose from:
$499 to attend sessions only and book your own lodging and airport transportation
$1199 to attend all sessions and we will book your lodging and arrange airport transportation
Both options include all meals, coffee, tea, snacks, and water.
-
We plan on a combination of session styles to accommodate diverse learners and to stimulate creativity and engagement. Panels, small group discussions, creative activities, walks on the river, lectures, and optional yoga and creative classes. There will be plenty of room for rest and play because we are tired (and assume you are, too).
-
We are used to preparing gluten free and dairy free options that do not taste like cardboard for all of our autoimmune girlies. For our neurodivergent attendees, you’re in good hands (our whole team is, too). For our friends with disabilities, there is a set of stairs that leads to Ashley’s bottom floor. We will make a way for you — please indicate your needs when you save your retreat spot.
